BHL Newsletter: Rocky start for most BHL countries in EURO 2020

It was not an easy start in the EHF EURO 2020 second qualifying stage for six countries which form the Baltic Handball League. Especially the first matchday, when all six lost their matches! Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus then took victories few days later, but Estonia, Lithuania and Finland will have to wait until April 2019 to open their point tally.

BHL Newsletter: European misery for all teams except Šviesa

It was definitely not a good week for BHL teams in Europe – five crashed out of EHF Cup or EHF Challenge Cup, plus Cocks Riihimäki suffered another bitter one-goal defeat in the EHF Champions League. The only happy team after last week is VHC Šviesa Vilnius, although it was a win-win situation, as they defeated fellow BHL-side Granitas-Karys Kaunas.

First weekend brings all Baltic teams into action

Although, the 2018/19 Baltic Handball League season started early with two games played in mid-September, the first full weekend is ahead. And it will strictly involve only teams from Baltic States with all nine of them joining the action. Except for HC Kehra/Horizon Pulp&Paper, all others will make their season debuts in the BHL.
