    BHL Newsletter: Cocks takes great victory, other teams crash out in Europe

    It was a week of mixed emotions for BHL clubs, especially in the European competitions. Last years BHL finalists Cocks Riihimäki, ZTR Zaporozhye and Granitas-Karys Kaunas took victories, but after the last EHF Champions League match of Cocks this Saturday, none of the nine BHL clubs who participated this season will continue in Europe.

    BHL Newsletter: European matches brought no success

    If BHL clubs are thriving in their respective domestic competitions, then European success keeps waiting. All four clubs who were in action last week over three European cup competitions, lost their matches.

    BHL Newsletter: domestic BHL-derbies in all Baltic States

    All twelve BHL clubs were in either domestic or international action last week with the two Latvian sides especially busy. In all three Baltic States there were important clashes between BHL clubs, while ZTR Zaporozhye's Dmytro Artemenko set a record of the season by scoring 18 goals in an Ukrainian league match.

    Double leadership in both groups

    Three days with nine matches in four Baltic cities produced some high quality handball. VHC Šviesa Vilnius and ZTR Zaporozhye were the biggest winners, collecting four points over the weekend, while HC Kehra/Horizon Pulp&Paper also retained their one hundred per cent record. Group A is led by SKA Minsk and ZTR on five points, as Šviesa and Kehra are on top of Group B with three wins out of three games.

    SKA's Ihar Papruha: Group A is very even and strong

    The second full weekend of new season's Baltic Handball League is ahead and ten teams will play nine matches allover the Baltic States, as matches are taking place in Klaipeda, Dobele, Riga, Tallinn and Viljandi. Three teams are still without points and they are surely eager whipe the zero off from the league table.

    BHL Newsletter: BHL players in form for national teams

    During the international week all six countries involved in Baltic Handball League had their respective national teams in action. Finland started their 2021 World Championship qualifying campaign with a defeat and a win, Estonia was eliminated in Turkey, Belarus took two friendly wins over Lithuania, Latvia won and lost against Luxembourg, while Ukraine capitulated twice in Tunisia.
